This Refund Policy explains how refunds are handled for bookings made with Golforia Golf Tours ("Golforia", "we", "us" or "our"). It should be read together with our Terms & Conditions and Cancellation Policy.
A refund may be due when a confirmed booking is cancelled in accordance with the Cancellation Policy, when a service is not provided by Golforia or a supplier, or when a payment is made in error and Golforia agrees that the amount should be refunded.
A 20% deposit is required to book a trip. Once the booking has been confirmed, that 20% deposit is non-refundable, subject to any mandatory rights the Customer may have under applicable South African law. Cancellation charges and any refundable amount are calculated against the remaining 80% balance in accordance with the Cancellation Policy.
The refund amount is calculated by taking the amount paid for the affected services and deducting:
Refunds are generally returned to the original payment method used for the booking (for example, the card or account used via PayFast or bank transfer). If the original payment method is no longer available, Golforia may offer a credit note or refund by bank transfer to an account nominated by the Customer.
Once a refund has been approved and the Customer has provided any information required, Golforia will process the refund within 14 to 21 business days. The time it takes for the funds to appear in the Customer's account may depend on the payment provider, bank or card issuer.
Where only part of a booking is cancelled, affected or not provided, Golforia may issue a partial refund. The refund will be calculated based on the value of the cancelled or affected services and any applicable cancellation charges or supplier deductions.
Refunds are not available for services that have already been consumed or used by the Customer. This includes accommodation nights already stayed, golf rounds already played, transfers already taken and activities already completed.
Where a refund is sought due to force majeure or supplier failure, Golforia will first attempt to recover any amounts possible from the supplier. The refund available will be limited to the amounts actually recovered, less any applicable cancellation charges or administrative fees. Golforia will provide the Customer with a clear breakdown of any supplier deductions.
In some circumstances, Golforia may offer a credit note instead of a cash refund. Credit notes are generally valid for 12 months from the date of issue and can be applied to a future booking. Credit notes are not transferable unless agreed in writing by Golforia and may not be redeemed for cash.
Golforia recommends that Customers claim under their travel insurance for losses that are not refundable by Golforia or its suppliers. Golforia will provide reasonable documentation to assist with an insurance claim where requested. Golforia is not responsible for an insurer's decision to accept or decline a claim.
If a Customer believes a payment has been made in error or in duplicate, the Customer should notify Golforia in writing as soon as possible. Golforia will investigate the matter and, if an error is confirmed, refund the overpaid amount within 14 to 21 business days.
No refund will be due where a Customer misses a service because of their own late arrival, failure to provide correct documentation, breach of golf-course rules, misconduct, or any other reason within the Customer's control.
Golforia may update this Refund Policy from time to time. The policy applicable to a confirmed booking will generally be the version in place at the time the booking was confirmed, subject to any mandatory legal requirements.
