Golforia understands that travel plans can change. Our cancellation policy is designed to provide reasonable protection to both the Customer and Golforia while recognising that golf tours involve advance commitments to accommodation providers, golf courses, transport providers and other suppliers.
A 30% deposit is required to confirm and secure a booking with Golforia.
The 30% deposit is non-refundable once the booking has been confirmed, subject to any mandatory rights the Customer may have under applicable South African law.
The remaining 70% of the total booking value is subject to the cancellation schedule set out below.
Important: The cancellation charges described below are calculated against the remaining 70% balance, and not against the original total booking price.
All cancellations must be submitted to Golforia in writing by email or through an approved written communication channel.
The cancellation date will be the date on which Golforia receives the written cancellation notice.
A verbal request to cancel will not be considered sufficient until written confirmation has been received.
The following cancellation schedule applies to the remaining 70% balance of the booking:
| Cancellation received | Cancellation charge on remaining 70% | Refund from remaining 70% |
|---|---|---|
| 90 days or more before departure | 10% | 90% |
| 60–89 days before departure | 25% | 75% |
| 30–59 days before departure | 50% | 50% |
| 15–29 days before departure | 75% | 25% |
| 0–14 days before departure | 100% | 0% |
The original 30% deposit remains non-refundable.
If the total booking value is R100,000:
If the Customer cancels 90 days or more before departure:
If the Customer cancels 30–59 days before departure:
If the Customer cancels 0–14 days before departure:
Golf tours frequently involve advance payments and reservations with third-party suppliers. These may include:
Where a supplier imposes cancellation charges or retains amounts that cannot reasonably be recovered by Golforia, these costs may be taken into account when determining the applicable cancellation charge, subject to applicable law.
Where supplier cancellation costs exceed the standard cancellation schedule above, Golforia may apply the actual non-recoverable supplier costs instead, provided that such charges are reasonable and legally permissible.
Any applicable special cancellation terms will be communicated to the Customer before or at the time of booking confirmation.
Certain services may have specific cancellation conditions that differ from Golforia's standard cancellation schedule. These may include:
Where special cancellation conditions apply, these will be disclosed to the Customer before or at the time of booking confirmation.
Where applicable law provides specific cancellation rights because a Customer is unable to honour a booking due to death or hospitalisation, Golforia will comply with those requirements.
Supporting documentation may reasonably be requested where necessary.
If a Customer does not arrive for a confirmed booking without providing cancellation notice, the booking may be treated as a no-show.
A no-show may result in the booking becoming 100% non-refundable, subject to applicable law and the specific terms of the booking.
Any amounts that cannot be recovered from suppliers may also be taken into account.
If a Customer arrives late or misses a scheduled service, Golforia will make reasonable efforts to assist where possible.
Additional costs resulting from:
may be payable by the Customer.
Unused services resulting from a Customer's late arrival or failure to attend are generally non-refundable, subject to applicable law.
A request to change a confirmed booking is not necessarily treated as a cancellation.
Golforia will make reasonable efforts to accommodate requested changes where possible. Changes may result in:
The Customer will be informed of any applicable costs before a material change is confirmed.
Golforia may cancel or materially alter a booking where this becomes necessary due to circumstances outside Golforia's reasonable control or where a supplier is unable to provide a booked service.
Where Golforia cancels a booking, Golforia will communicate the available options to the Customer.
Where a refund is legally or contractually due, it will be processed in accordance with Golforia's Refund Policy and applicable law.
Customers are strongly encouraged to obtain suitable travel insurance that provides cover for cancellation, trip interruption and other unforeseen circumstances.
The Customer is responsible for ensuring that their insurance provides appropriate cover for their individual circumstances.
Golforia cannot guarantee that a Customer's personal reason for cancellation will qualify for an insurance payout.
Any refund due following cancellation will be calculated in accordance with this Cancellation Policy, the Customer's booking confirmation and applicable law.
The 30% booking deposit remains non-refundable, subject to mandatory consumer rights.
Any refundable amount from the remaining 70% balance will be processed in accordance with Golforia's Refund Policy.
Nothing in this Cancellation Policy removes or limits any mandatory rights a Customer has under South African law.
Where there is a conflict between this policy and a mandatory legal requirement, the applicable law will prevail.
Golforia reserves the right to amend or adjust a cancellation charge where required to comply with applicable law.
